Unlock the Mystery
A message from Charlene Woodford, Founder

As long as I can remember, no matter where we lived, tiny towns or buzzing cities, we became tourists in our own backyard, chasing hidden gems, quirky cafes, secret gardens and roadside wonders. We learned that adventure isn’t only halfway across the world; sometimes it’s right around the corner.

Our weekends and days off quickly turned into mini expeditions. We’d pick a direction and go, noses pressed to guidebooks, but always ready to detour if a hand-painted sign, historic plaque or artisan shop caught our attention. For me, it was the charm of the unexpected, a mural bursting with colour on the side of an old warehouse or a botanical garden no one seemed to talk about. For hubby Shawn, it was the stories hidden beneath the surface, the ruins that hinted at forgotten histories or the local diner owner who had lived three lives before landing behind the counter.

Friends always asked, “How do you find these cool spots?” And the answer was just, “Well, it’s what we love doing”. The secret? We look closer, linger longer and listen harder. Familiar places have hidden layers and, if you slow down, they’ll tell their secrets. Eventually we thought, why not let everyone in on the fun?

Each Mystery Day Trip is carefully designed to feel like we’re whispering directions in your ear, revealing just enough to spark curiosity and leaving space for plenty of surprises. We wanted to create memorable experiences that inspire you to see and do more by stepping outside your comfort zone, taking the road less travelled and embracing adventure nearby. Our goal is to support local businesses and communities by guiding explorers to unique food spots, heritage sites, nature parks and off-the-beaten-path attractions that might otherwise be overlooked.

With a Mystery Day Trip, you don’t have to plan, research or stress. Open it when you’re ready to roll and the adventure is set. No overthinking. All you need is a Mystery Day Trip to guide you and a willingness to play tourist in your own backyard.

The best part? We kept the cost low so it’s not just for special occasions. It’s for any weekend, a day off or for those mornings when you roll out of bed and feel like hitting the road. Keep a stash on hand for those spontaneous moments.

Life is short. Go explore. Surprise yourself. And remember: the best stories usually start with, “We had no idea what we were walking into…”

Adventure called. We answered. Now it’s your turn!
